Did Rowdy's Film With Sukumar Get Shelved?

Back in 2020, Rowdy hero Vijay Deverakonda took to social media and announced that he will be working with star director Sukumar. He said, "Sukumar â Vijay Devarakonda. The actor in me is super excited. The audience in me is celebrating! We guarantee you memorable Cinema.. I can't wait to be on set with Sukku Sirrr." At that time Vijay is working on 'Liger' and Sukumar is focused on 'Pushpa â The Rule'.
This film was supposed to be produced by Kedar Selagamsetty under 'Falcon Creations'. Interestingly, it will be the first production venture for Kedar who happens to be a good friend of Vijay Devarakonda. But there is no news about that project till date. As we know, the humongous success of 'Pushpa' changed the equations completely. Sukumar is working on 'Pushpa â The Rule' which is expected to come out in 2023.
On the other hand, Vijay spent more than two years on 'Liger' and it ended up as the biggest disaster in his career. He shelved 'Jana Gana Mana' with Puri Jagannadh immediately and he only has 'Khushi' in his hands right now. It is a romantic drama featuring Vijay and Samantha in the lead roles. This movie is expected to hit the screens by the end of this year or during the initial months of 2023.
Amidst all this, there are rumours going around that Vijay and Sukumar's film has been shelved. Gossip is that Sukumar reached the next level with 'Pushpa' and he is not going to be free for the next 2-3 years. After scoring a hattrick of flops, Vijay needs a hit right now and one cannot predict what happens in the next few years. Though it has not been confirmed yet, the news of this crazy combo not happening anytime soon is going viral. We need to wait and see if it is really true or just a baseless rumour
