In Talk: Digital 'Burden' For Tollywood!
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 July 2018 6:56 PM ISTCharges levied by Digital Service Providers (DSP) has been a huge burden on the Producers in the Telugu Film Industry. This issue was discussed recently during the 39th General Body Meeting of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.
Few months ago, Telugu Film Industry had launched the fight against Digital Service Providers but called off it within few days after holding talks. On the other hand, Vishal who is the President of Tamil Producers Council took the fight against Digital Service Providers to the next level. He paved way for new Digital Service Providers, who provided services for less tariff, to hurt the leading players. Whereas, Telugu Producers failed to at least follow this model so far.
Telugu Film Chamber newly elected President Veeri Naidu assured he would take the measures to bring new Digital Service Providers so that there won't be much burden on the Producers.
Film Chamber Secretary Valluripally Ramesh: 'Outsides mayn't know much as Veeri Naidu but he is well-known personality in the Industry as Purvi Pictures Raju. He has immense experience as Distributor-cum-Exhibitor. I hope he would resolve all the issues in the four sectors. About Rs 4.10 crore of subsidy sanctioned by AP Government for various films is yet to be disbursed. Measures should be taken to ensure that fund reaches the Producers'.
