'Varisu' is a movie which has Thalapathy Vijay playing the lead and it is directed by Vamsi Paidipally while Dil Raju is the producer. After a long time, Vijay acted in a complete family entertainer. Vamsi Paidipally penned this story explaining the importance of relationships in the backdrop of a corporate company.
Though the content and the story are adequate, a lot of people are claiming that this story is not for current generation people. They claim that people 20 years back might connect with this plot. The current generation people are getting connected to mass, action, suspense and crime elements in a story.
Due to this the Tamil audience couldn't connect with the emotions despite getting a positive talk. Though it is a Tamil film with Tamil actors, the emotions are closer to the Telugu films and this explains the explains the mixed talk in three days. The movie minted 19.43 crores on the first day but the collections had a 60% drop in the second half as it got only 8.75 crores.
The collections on the third day were just 7.11 crores which means that the movie collected a total of 35.29 crores in three days. Keeping in mind Vijay's craze, this film should have been near the 100 crore mark already but experts are claiming that this movie is on its way it becoming one of the biggest disasters in Vijay's career in recent times.
Despite such low collections, Dil Raju escaped the losses since he sold all the theatrical rights beforehand. But experts say that Dil Raju should bear the losses in the Telugu market since he is the one who released it. Let us wait and see how Dil Raju responds to it.
