Dil Raju's Trust In Small Films Pays Off!

Star producer Dil Raju has been under a lot of scrutiny over the past few weeks. Some of his decisions have not gone down well with the Telugu film fraternity and fans of a few star heroes as well. This led to him facing a lot of heat on social media. But it looks like the producer's judgment about movies is still intact.
He recently backed a Telugu horror movie and released a Tamil film in Telugu. Interestingly, both these movies are working well at the box office. He backed 'Masooda' which arrived as a small film. This horror thriller went unnoticed on the first day but the positive word of mouth worked in its favor and the collections improved a lot. Barring Sangeetha, there are no well-known actors in this movie. But the spine-chilling narration impressed the audience and reports claim that it got 2 crores from Nizam alone till date. Dil Raju is expected to end with decent profits.
After this, he released the Tamil film 'Love Today' in Telugu last weekend. This movie got a very positive talk and the contemporary storyline and entertainment were loved by the audience. Reports say that the collection during the first weekend alone is around 6-7 crores. These gross collections prove that Dil Raju's judgment worked out well again. The movie's hero Pradeep Ranganathan wrote and directed this film and he is not known to the Telugu audience. But the content impressed the viewers and the movie is performing well despite unknown cast members barring Satyaraj, Radhika and Yogi Babu.
On the production front, Dil Raju is bankrolling two big projects. While his movie with Thalapathy Vijay titled 'Varisu' is releasing this Sankranti season, he is also producing Ram Charan and Shankar's political drama. Knowing Shankar, this movie is going to be made on a huge budget and Dil Raju is going all out for the 50th movie under his esteemed banner.
