Director Fails To Make Full Use Of King Khan!

It has been nearly four years since we saw Shah Rukh Khan on the big screens. His last film was 'Zero' and it was a big failure at the box office. With his last few films ending up as disappointments, SRK decided to take a brief sabbatical from acting and reconsider his script selection. While he is currently busy with movies like 'Pathan', 'Dunki' and 'Jawaan', most of these films may not arrive till next year.

He did a guest role in 'Rocketry' but it was a biopic that had zero scope for commercial elements. Now, he did a brief role in 'Brahmastra' which was a huge project with supernatural elements. Though the reports came out long back that SRK will be seen in a brief role, the makers did not reveal his scenes in the trailer or the teaser. Many expected to see SRK in a very powerful role with superpowers.

But the audience were disappointed heavily as the King Khan was presented just like any regular artist. One would expect a lot from a hero of SRK's stature but director Ayan Mukherji failed to use the superstar. With fans wanting to see him back on the big screen for the past three years, seeing him as a character with superpowers would have created euphoria in theatres. But no such attempt was made and it disappointed the audience a lot.

'Brahmastra' released on September 9th amidst huge hype and expectations. It was the costliest film made in Bollywood and Karan Johar bankrolled it. The movie got a mixed response from the audience and many said that a lot of unnecessary focus has been given to Ranbir and Alia's love story rather than the Astras and the drama revolving it. Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna played crucial roles while Mouni Roy was seen as the villain. Rajamouli presented the film in South India and it reportedly got 75 crores on its first day. Let us wait and see how the film does after the first weekend.
