'Sangamithra' is the most ambitious project of Director Sundar C Kumar (Khushbu's Husband). Shruti Haasan was the first choice to play the lead role. She had even underwent training of sword wielding and horse riding for few weeks in London. Much to everyone's shock, The Star Kid walked out of the project citing Makers failed to plan the schedules properly.
After much thought, Disha Patani was signed to play the lead in 'Sangamithra' but the film hasn't gone on floors so far. This delay fueled the rumours that the project has been shelved.
Sundar C Kumar himself come forward to issue a clarification. 'We have been busy with the script work for the past 18 months. Sangamithra hasn't been shelved. Pre-Production Work is taking so much time due to the heavy use of Visual Effects. We would prepare the story board soon after completion of the script. Once after completing a part of the graphic work, We will take the film on floors,' he said.
