Disney + Hotstar is one of the top OTT platforms in India. Along with live coverage of sports and streaming of big releases, this platform often comes up with interesting original content in many languages. Disney + Hotstar is now making a huge project based on the Indian mythology 'Mahabharatha'. It will be made in a such a way that it caters to the international audience too.
At the Disney's ongoing D23 Expo in Anaheim of California, the OTT giant made the huge announcement regarding 'Mahabharata' and released a few sketches from the movie providing the audience a peek at what to expect. They claim it as the greatest epic ever written – retold at a scale never seen before. It is an ethereal spectacle that will be coming soon.
The sketches and stills look jaw-dropping and sources say that Hrithik Roshan may play the lead. Disney + Hotstar is producing this project in association with Allu Entertainment, Madhu Mantena and Mythoverse Studios. The stills remind people of 'Baahubali', 'Game Of Thrones' and the Amazon Prime series 'Rings Of Power'. Imagine if 'Mahabharat' was made like a grand series as it has more drama and twists than any English novel. Let us wait and see how this much-awaited project turns out.
