It's never easy for a Hero to break the barriers. We have seen many Southern Stars fail to win the hearts of people in neighboring states, forget about Bollywood. Sometimes, Even multiple attempts mayn't yield the desired results.
Fortunately, We have few gifted actors who could cross the language barriers effortlessly. Something which his Father Mammootty failed to do has been achieved by Dulquer Salmaan. We knew Mammootty is a star but that's only in Kerala, not in any of the other Southern States though he is quite popular and admired by many Tamilians & Telugus.
With 'Ok Bangaram', Dulquer Salmaan showed he isn't only a good actor but also created a decent market for him in Tamil & Telugu circuits. He increased his fan base down South many times with brilliant portrayal of Gemini Ganesan in 'Mahanati'. Now, He is more like Southern Superstar who commands a solid market. Even Telugu and Tamil Filmmakers would be keen to cast him in trilingual films from now.
