In the initial days of his Hollywood career, he had been panned by Critics as stone face and the actor took it all in his stride and made great progress with strong grit.

But with star status, the actor seems to be highly unrelaxed regarding the criticism for his new movie, Baywatch. The movie has been criticised by many as the worst ever action-comedy and the actor is trying hard to prive it the other way. He is also the producer of the movie, may be that is bringing out such strong reaction from him. He criticised the Critics by saying, "These so called Critics seem to have lost connection with the real world. Fans are enjoying the movie in the theatre. People go to watch some fun movies in the theatre not the boring stuff."

He further opined, "I believe these Critics have poison and knife in their pockets. Fans are absolutely madly in love with the movie and I don't understand their hatred. You can see how positive they are as they've been posting reaction videos and messages all over the Internet." He even shared a video where the fans are enjoying the movie in the theatre.
