Earth-shattering OTT offer for KGF 2?

KGF 2 is one of the most awaited films of the year. The unit had wrapped up shooting for the film a long while back, but the release is being postponed due to the prevailing situation pertaining to the Covid outbreak. The makers had recently affirmed that the new release date of the film will be announced in the next few days, based on the Covid situation. Here comes an interesting update on the Yash starrer. Apparently, a top OTT platform has offered an earth-shattering deal for the direct to digital rights of KGF 2.
Going into the story, an OTT giant reportedly offered as much as Rs 255 crores for the direct to digital rights of KGF 2. They were ready to even escalate the deal further and offer more money if the makers are really willing to sit and discuss the OTT proposal. This is by far the biggest OTT deal for any Indian film till date.
However, the makers of KGF 2 have outrightly rejected any advancements from the OTT platform as they are firmly against direct digital release. The director Prashanth Neel and the male lead, Yash are persisting on theatrical release for the film. They have asked the producers not to take the OTT deal even into consideration.
Even the makers of KGF 2 are inclined towards theatrical release, given the buzz surrounding the film. KGF 2 banks on the blockbuster success of the first part KGF. The second installment will release amidst sky-high anticipation and trade analysts opine that the film will get off to a flying start at the box office. They say that KGF 2 will register tremendous openings in all parts of the country as the audiences are eager to watch what the sequel to the blockbuster KGF has to offer.
