Drugs Case: ED Officials Quiz Puri Jagannath For 10 Long Hours!

Filmmaker Puri Jagannath appeared before the economic intelligence agency ED on Tuesday.
The questioning of the leading filmmaker lasted for around 10 hours. The director's Chartered Accountant had accompanied Puri Jagannath for questioning the alleged money laundering angle in the 2017 drugs case. Temper director Puri Jagannath who reached the ED office on the morning of Tuesday left the office on the night after the detailed quizzing by the officials.
Reports say that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials have directed the filmmaker to submit the transactions of his bank account. Following the same, Puri Jagannath submitted the details of the same the other day. He is said to have faced questions on the bank transactions reportedly.
As an unwanted development, in this case, producer Bandla Ganesh reached the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday. This made everyone think that he was also summoned by the ED. However, Bandla Ganesh was not linked to the case and he reached there to meet Puri Jagannath.
When asked by the media why he reached there, Bandla Ganesh said he came to meet Puri Jagannath and requested the media personnel not to link him with the drugs case.
As the Telangana Special Investigation Team (SIT) had probed the case earlier, the ED had collected the case details and the development in the probe. Later, 10 Tollywood celebrities were summoned by the ED in the alleged drugs case. Besides Puri Jagannath, Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Ravi Teja, Charmee Kaur, Navdeep, and Mumaith Khan were summoned by ED.
As part of its probe, the SIT had grilled Ravi Teja, Charmme Kaur, Mumaith Khan, Jagannadh, Tarun Kumar, Navadeep, Subbaraju, Tanish, Nandu, and others. However, the film celebrities were given a clean chit in the case by the SIT.
The alleged drugs case came to light when one Calvin Mascarenhas, a musician by profession was nabbed by the customs officials back in 2017. The incident has created quite a sensation across the Telugu states.
