While most of the big Bollywood projects toppled at the box office in the past year or two, many thought that the situation would be different when big heroes arrive. Films of crazy heroes like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh failed badly thereby ending up in huge losses. Also, a bankable superstar like Akshay Kumar started to give back-to-back flops. Many thought Aamir Khan would deliver a hit but he bagged his biggest flop in the form of 'Laal Singh Chadda'. With all the stars failing at the box office, every person in Bollywood has rested their hopes of 'Brahmastra'.
Despite the high ticket rates, the advance bookings are quite impressive and many are expecting the film to get over 30 crores on its open day. The teaser, trailer and songs created a huge buzz on this movie. Ranbir, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy are promoting this film all across the nation. The makers want the film to perform well in Southern states too as they are aggressively promoting in regional languages. They even appeared on Suma's 'Cash' game show.
This year, movies like 'Kashmiri Files', 'Karthikeya 2' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' can be termed as super hits and all of them had a connection with Hindu culture and gods. As we know, 'Brahmastra' is a fantasy film that revolves around Hindu gods and their powers. With Rajamouli promoting the film in the South, there are good chances of this film doing well AP, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu too. While the content needs to be strong and impressive, it is Karan Johar who is bringing a lot of negativity to the film. The anger towards him is what is turning into 'Boycott' trends. With all these pluses and minuses, the movie is arriving on 9th September amidst huge expectations. We need to see what happens and how the movie turns out.
