In 2009, Avatar became the All Time Biggest Blockbuster at the Global Box Office ever. Movie collected close to 2.7 Billion USD and the record remained unbeaten till Avengers: EndGame release in 2019. After a brief period, Avatar got re-released and reclaimed the top position from Avengers.
Viewers are awaiting for the proposed sequels from the last one decade. James Cameron, the director of the original film created Pandora world for the film and the sequels will continue in the same world.
Avatar 2, Avatar 3, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 films are proposed to release from the year 2017. But the films release dates got postponed to 2018, 2019 and 2020. Avatar 2 will be released on 16th December, 2022.
Other sequels will be released in 2024, 2026 and 2028. The lead pair Jake Sully and Naitiri will return with their kids in the new film. It will have their kids and one of their kids will be a spider.
Producers say that there will be ground-breaking VFX in the film like the first and this time there are more underwater sequences too. If not for Covid, we would have been watching the movie in theaters now. Well, just a year more, if everything goes as per plan.
