Businessman Raj Kundra was arrested by the police recently as he is said to be involved in a racket that is into shooting and publishing adult content.

After he was produced before a court, he was sent to the police custody till July 23 rd.

Police investigation has found out that the adult content that was shot would be sent to an aggregator and the intimate pictures and videos bif the models would be uploaded to the apps.

After the news broke out, the debate on whether the existing laws will prevent the consumption and usage of adult content and how effective are the laws concerning the adult content.

As per the law filming, sharing and publishing the content that is erotic is prohibited in the country. Raj Kundra was arrested by the cops on the same allegations.

A case was filed against Raj Kundra under Indian Penal Code Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays), and IT act section 67 and 67 A.

As per IPC section 292, a paper, pamphlet, literature, hand drawn figure and picture made by a brush that is obscene or arouses sexual desires is prohibited.

Manufacturing, selling, import and export of the above mentioned content and getting income through them is prohibited and punishable.

Raj Kundra was also charged with obscene representation(prohibition) of women. The businessman is also accused on luring women into being a part of such erotic content.

Actresses alleging that Raj Kundra and his associates offered roles only if they were a part of adult content should need a special mention here. The investigation was speeded up by such complaints reportedly.

It has to be noted that back in February, a controversial actress told the media that she was asked for a nude audition.

Reacting to the case, several activists and experts have opined that the laws should be updated to deal with such cases and the accused and fraudsters are using the loopholes to get out of the troubles.

We should change with time and the laws should also change so that no fraudsters would be escaped from the law.
