Farm Bills Row: Farmers Firm On Their Decision, Reject Centre's suggestions!
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Dec 2020 1:53 PM GMTThe farmer union leaders have met Union Home Minister Amit Shah the other day and told the Minister their concerns over the controversial agricultural bills. The government has sent amendments to the farm bills and asked the farmers to think over the amendments.
The national media claimed that the farmers protesting against the controversial agricultural bills have reportedly disagreed with the amendments and urged the government to repeal the bills.
One of the main amendments promised by the union government is to roll back the Ordinance issued on the stubble burning and electricity. However, the farmers turned down the amendments.
The union government has also suggested offering a Minimum Support Price for the existing agricultural products and the procurement by the centre and state government will continue.
The farmers who have been protesting against the controversial agricultural bills for more than a month were very firm on their decision to oppose the Agri bill trio and are not ready to agree to the amendment reportedly.
The union government has passed The Farmer's Produce Trade and Commerce(Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, The Farmer (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 recently.
Since the bills were passed, the farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and some parts of BJP ruled Uttar Pradesh are protesting against the bills urging the government to repeal the bills.
