Film Chamber Lists Guidelines For Small Films!
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Oct 2022 3:54 PM GMTThe Tollywood industry is the first industry to come out of the Covid crisis quickly. However, the industry suffered a few blows after a bunch of issues came to light. The cine workers called for a strike demanding a hike in their remuneration. After a small halt, the shootings were resumed.
When everything looked ok the producers' bodies had different views on the OTT release of films and the gap between the theatre and OTT release. The issue was also sorted with the producers' bodies and others coming to a common opinion. Seeing that issues are popping up at regular intervals, the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce called for a key meeting.
At the meeting, the Chamber had set some guidelines for small films. All films which are made under a budget of Rs 4 crores are small. Below are the other guidelines for small films.
1. Films made under a budget of Rs 4 crores should be considered small films.
2. To inform the Chamber about the budget of the film a letter should be sent to the body in the prescribed proforma and it should be signed by all the technicians. It should be mentioned in how many days, the shooting was completed. The budget details should be filed by the Producer, director, and manager.
3. The application should be sent 15 days before the start of the shoot
4. The sub-committee in the Film Federation will look into the application and give a tax relation of 15 percent.
5. Once the film is recognised as a small film, the federation should take wages with a discount of 15 percent. The federation should take responsibility for imposing the rule.
6. The makers should give an affidavit to the chamber that the film will be made within the budget. The director should take responsibility if the budget exceeds the limit.
7. A decision should be taken after a discussion on what actions should be taken if a 15 percent relaxation was not imposed.
8. Two each members from the Federation and Chamber would send letters to the producers recognising the films as small films by calling for a meeting on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.
