Republic Day - Mad rush!

It is common to see a rush for sale during the end of a season or a Telugu month like Ashadam. When it comes to films it is Summer, Dussehra and Sankranthi seasons, we see such humongous rush. But with biggies blocking the dates for the festivals, many films are looking for alternate dates where there is a big holiday to boost the business. Independence Day weekend has become such a holiday weekend, this year and for next year, Republic Day seems to be continuing the rush.
Already for December Christmas season, not many films look to release but this time around 5 films have announced their dates in the last two weeks. Then for Sankranthi season two big films are fighting it out. Now producers have announced their release date for 26th January and there is a mad rush among them to find theatres as well.
As off now, Anushka's Bhagmathi, Manchu Vishnu's Achari America Yatra are in the front seat. Along with them, Kamal Haasan's long delayed Vishwaroopam-2 and Mahesh's elder sister, Manjula's directorial debut, Manasuku Nacchindi is also scheduled. Joining them, Vishal announced his Abhimanyudu for 26th January. He postponed his movie from Pongal date to Republic Day weekend due to some unavoidable circumstances. We have to wait and see, how many will successfully make it to the theatres now.
