Manmadhudu 2: Remake or Freemake?

After coming up with two disappointing ventures last year in the form of Officer and Devadas, King Nagarjuna is coming up with a romantic comedy called Manmadhudu 2 this time. Directed by Rahul Ravindran, the theatrical trailer of this film was released the other day.
Speaking at the trailer launch event, Nag clarified that it is not a sequel to Manmadhudu. He said that both the films have no connection in common. Meanwhile, Nag also stated that this movie is an official remake of a French film. But the actor also clarified that they have only taken plot point and woven an entirely different story to suit the nativity of Telugu audience.
When asked about the much-gossiped liplocks in the film, Nag said that he did a two and half minute kissing scene in Geethajali and with increased age, he only got better in the act. Manmadhudu 2 stars Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead. It is slated for the release on August 9.
