Vijay Sets New Record In Nizam

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna starrer 'Geetha Govindam' is having a dream run at the box office not only in the Telugu states but also in overseas as well. The movie successfully completed four weeks and raked 19 crores in Nizam.

A medium range hero pulling off this feat is rare. The highest any medium range hero collected is Rs. 15 crores. Varun Tej is the only one who touched 18.05 crores in Nizam with 'Fidaa' but Vijay Deverakonda surpassed this record. Till now only star heroes like Mahesh Babu, NTR, Ram Charan, Bunny, Megastar, Prabhas recorded top collections. With 'Geetha Govindam' making 19crores in Nizam, Vijay scored 12th place. Earlier, there were some speculations in the collections of movies especially in the case of Duvvada Jagannadham. Megastar's comeback film Khaidi number 150 collected 19.55 crores in Nizam. So, as Vijay starrer flick already reached 19 crores, in its full run it will definitely collect one more crore.

If this happens, then 'Geetha Govindam' will surpass the numbers recorded by 'Khaidi number 150', 'Gabbar Singh', 'Sarrainodu', 'Bharath Ane Nenu' movies as they all collected 20 crores only. Meanwhile yesterday 'Geetha Govindam' collected 90 lakhs in just one day.
