Nani had to face an all-time low during 2012-13, after Eega as his films couldn't reach the expectations of the audiences. He did slightly better with Yevade Subramanyam.
But his big comeback and great starter for the star status he acquired today is the film, Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy.
The movie went onto become a classic comedy formula and Nani built on the image it gave him until Nenu Local and MCA, made him huge.
The same Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy, couldn't repeat the magic in Tamil. The movie got remade as Ghajinikanth with Arya and Sayyesha Saigal.
It is a honest remake following even the dress actors wore, still it turned out to be less engaging as per the reviews. Many reviews commented on the comedy being forced and not naturally developed from the script.
Well, Maruthi surprised many with the movie and just using his technique doesn't bring his timing in comedy. It seems like the director in Tamil lacked clarity.
