Seasoned Producer AM Ratnam is leaving no stone unturned to promote his son Jyothy Krishna as promising filmmaker. He is pumping in a mammoth budget of Rs 30 crore for Jyothy Krishna's next project 'Oxygen' starring Gopichand and Rashi Khanna.
Wasn't allotting Rs 30 crore for a Gopichand's film a huge gamble? Even the Macho Hero's biggest hit 'Loukyam' till date collected just Rs 22 crore. In fact, That's the only hit he delivered in past few years. While Sahasam was average, Jil earned table profits for UV Creations but buyers suffered losses.
Neither AM Ratnam nor Jyothy Krishna learnt any lessons from the failure of 'Nee Manasu Naaku Telugu'. How could they recover such a huge budget? Will Distributors and Exhibitors take the huge risk even after a disaster like 'Soukyam'?
For Gopichand, A film with a budget of Rs 15-20 crore is a safe bet. Who knows, Team Oxygen might surprise the critics with a blockbuster generating record revenue.
