Teaser Talk: A film questions traditions?

These days, the films that question the traditions have been increasing. As they are many political and religious stands that the filmmakers are taking these days, the films that are edgy have been increasing in numbers. We don't know if they release or not but they are definitely bringing home a point of discussion on the dark traditions that have been demeaning the human progress over the years. Halal The Film, seems to be one such film.
National Award winning director, Shivaji Lothan Patil has directed the movie and the teaser depicts the harmful effects of Triple Talak in Islam. According to the religious tradition, if husband tells to his wife Talak over phone or in -person or if he sends a letter saying Talak for three times, then the wife and husband are divorced for eternity. There are many rules that she cannot marry her husband again and she has to leave everything on-spot and move out after this. Well, the films seems to be questioning this tradition through a character.
The teaser made it clear that a husband announces Talak three times to his wife and goes away from the house. Unable to fathom this sudden announcement, the wife asks all the Moulvis and other village heads to help her in this situation. The film seems to be portraying a strong statement against this old tradition in Islam and it is scheduled for a release on 29th of September.
Chinmay Mandlekar, Priyadarshan Jadhav, Pritam Kagne, Vijay Chavan,Chaya Kadam, Sanjay Sugaokar, Vimal Mhatre, Amol Kagne, Neha Dakhinka, Surekha Kagne are acting in the movie. Already, the movie has won accolades at Pune Film Festival in 2016 and also at Aurangabad International Film Festival.
