Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha starrer '96' movie got released amid high expectations on October 4th. Touted to be a pure feel-good love story, the movie gained a positive response from the audience.
The Telugu remake rights of this movie are currently in the hands of Dil Raju. The producer has bought the rights even before the release of the movie and decided to remake this movie instead of dubbing the film. Dil Raju is planning to rope in Harish Shankar as the director of the movie. The last film that got released with Harish Shankar and Dil Raju combination is 'DJ' (Duvvada Jagannadham). The duo was supposed to get together with 'Dagudumoothalu' movie but Dil Raju was not happy with the script so Harish started searching other producers for that film. The official announcement of that project is yet to be made.
On the other hand, Dil Raju wants Hari Shankar to direct the Telugu remake of '96' movie. Helming a remake movie is not something new for Harish Shankar. Because he has already directed 'Gabbar Singh' movie which is a remake of Bollywood movie 'Dabangg'. It is a known fact that the movie became a blockbuster in Telugu. So, Dil Raju is showing interest on Harish Shankar. Let's wait and see if this project gets materialized or not.
