It is known that singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripaada was removed from the union in November 2018, a month after she madd sexual harassment allegations against noted lyricist Vairamuthu.

On this note, Chinmayi filed a civil suit against the dubbing artistes union’s decision and alleged that her membership was revoked without a showcause notice. She claimed that they are doing it intentionally as she had made allegations on Vairamuthu. She said that the dubbing artistes union had demanded Rs 1.5 lakh and an apology letter from her to be reinstated and to be allowed to work in Kollywood. She accused the union of unfair treatment. Now, the civil court in Chennai issued an interim stay order on Friday restraining the South Indian Cine Television Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union’s from removing singer Chinmayi Sripaada as its member.

"I have been awarded an interim stay order by the Honble Court regarding my ban from the Tamilnadu Dubbing Union.
It is a long legal battle ahead.
Hope justice will prevail.
Thank you." Tweeted Chinmayi.
