How Does 'RRR' Solve The Issues In Andhra?
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Dec 2021 12:01 PM GMTThe release date of the pan-Indian project 'RRR' is fast approaching but things in Andhra Pradesh are not at all encouraging. Most of the buyers are complaining that the rates for which they bought 'RRR' for are no longer viable due to the new laws laid by the Andhra government. They are asking to reduce the prizes by fifty percent at least and sources say that they are even threatening by demanding the advance money back.
News is that producer DVV Danayya is going to have a meeting with Andhra and Ceeded region buyers in the new few days. Apparently, the theatrical rights in Andhra were sold for 100 crores and the Ceeded region was given for 40 crores but the situation has changed completely now. The buyers may not get half the prize in return because of the new ticket rates.
Blockbuster films like 'Akhanda' and 'Pushpa' have earned 6 crores and 7 crores respectively in the Vizag region. This was at a time when the ticket prizes were between hundred to hundred and fifty. But the government has tightened the screws and it is looking impossible for 'RRR' to get 25 crores in the Vizag area. It will only be possible if every theatre sells the tickets for over 200 rupees.
'Akhanda' earned 4 crores in East Godavari and 'Pushpa' too collected only 4 crores in ten days despite the blockbuster talk. Now, 'RRR' has to earn 17 crores in the same region with reduced ticket rates.
As it is Sankranti season and with no other big film in the mix, the film may get double of what 'Akhanda' and 'Pushpa' earned as it has two big heroes and Rajamouli. But a lot of theatres are being closed by the government and with low ticket prices, all the buyers are getting worried. News is that Sai Korrapati is talking to Danayya on behalf of the buyers. Let us see what happens at the meeting tomorrow.
'RRR' is a film made on a budget of over 400 crores and Rajamouli is its director. It is the first time that a Nandamuri hero and a Mega hero are joining forces for a film and there are humongous expectations on this pan-Indian flick.
