How Is Mohanlal's '12th Man'?
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 May 2022 11:15 AM GMTThe movie lovers have been flooded with a lot of OTT content this weekend. Apart from big films like 'RRR' and 'Acharya' premiering digitally, Sree Vishnu's action thriller 'Bhala Thandanana' was made available on Disney+Hotstar. Along with them, Mohanlal's psychological drama '12th Man' too had a direct OTT release. The trailer attracted a lot of people and the Telugu audience expected a dubbed version of it but it did not happen.
Since this movie was directed by Jeethu Joseph who made 'Drishyam' and 'Drishyam - 2' with Mohanlal, the expectations skyrocketed on '12th Man'. But reviews suggest that the movie failed to reach the expectations of the viewers. Though Jeethu Joseph's signature screenplay is eminent, the lengthy film which panned for 2 hours and 40 minutes tested the patience of the audience. Most of the first half was spent on plot establishment which bored the audience as per reports. Though the film did not disappoint completely, it certainly leaves a lot to be desired.
Coming to the story, a group of friends have a bachelor party at a lonely spot and start playing a game. Unexpectedly, a girl gets killed and this leads to Mohanlal entering the film in order to find out who murdered her. The premise is interesting and the movie is one time watchable but don't go expecting another 'Drishyam' from this hit combo.
Apart from Mohanlal, the film also features Unni Mukundan, Saiju Kurup, Shivada, Anu Sithara, Anusree, Priyanka Nair, Anu Mohan, Rahul Madhav, Leona Lishoy, Chandunath, and Aditi Ravi in vital roles. KR Kirshnakumar provided the screenplay while Satheesh Kurup is the cinematographer. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, '12th Man' was edited by Vinay and Anil Johnson composed the music.
