Trisha Got A Breather From High Court

A case has been haunting Chennai beauty Trisha for the last five-six years. Income Tax department has registered a case on Trisha in 2011-2012. Madras High court has recently pronounced its final verdict in the case.
Trisha has filed income tax returns in a few years ago mentioning that her income for 2011-2012 was Rs. 89.69 Lakhs. She has paid the tax that is applicable to her income. She didn't have any issue with that filing. But Trisha has shown her income as Rs. 4.4 crores in the next year. IT department got suspicious on how her income has grown by five times in a single year. They have immediately swung into action and served notices to Trisha. They have conducted an investigation and they have imposed a fine of Rs.1.16 crore saying that Trisha evaded tax.
The case was in Madras High court and the final verdict came in favour of Trisha. The court said that Trisha didn't evade her tax but she had taken advances for the future projects and she has shown the same income in her returns. The court said that Trisha need not pay any fine. Madras High Court verdict is a breather to Trisha. Had the verdict been negative, she has to pay nearly Rs.2 crores fine including interest.. she may have to face jail term as well.
