The South Indian cinema kept its belief in its stars and released movies in theatres whenever there was a chance. A lot of medium and big-budget films raked up the moolah which was an encouraging sign to many. Films like 'Akhanda' and 'Pushpa' created a storm at the box office in December and January.
The North audience too walked into theatres to watch South Indian films which shows that the lines have definitely blurred. Many started coining the term Indian cinema which is why we had a lot of pan-Indian releases in the last few months.
As per trade reports, the all-over collection in March and April months has amounted to over 3000 crores. It is an unbelievable number which was considered a wild dream till a few years back. Many claim that it is the peak of Indian cinema and the entire credit goes to movies like 'RRR', 'KGF – 2', 'Kashmir Files', 'Radhe Shyam', 'Gangubai Khatiwadi' and 'Beast'. Both 'RRR' and 'KGF – 2' crossed 1100 crores each and showcased the stamina of Indian cinema.
Surpassing everyone's expectations, 'Kashmir Files' moved everyone's heart thereby earning more than 250 crores. Films like 'Beast', 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Gangubai Khatiwadi' got more than 125 crores. All these films did great business all over the nation and it is the peak Indian cinema has ever witnessed.
With a lot of big films coming throughout the year, hope that Indian cinema flourishes in the same manner and reaches greater heights in the coming days. Also, a lot of Bollywood artists and technicians are collaborating with South Indian talent to make pan-Indian content which should continue without any hindrances.
