Industry Veteran Predicts The Theatre Business In Coming Days!
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Sep 2021 11:10 AM GMTThe heavy surge in the OTT market has left everyone wondering about the future of theatre of business. Many are saying that the theatres will be extinct in the coming days but industry veteran Narayan Das Narang begs to differ with this. The well-known personality who financed the movies of NTR and ANR during the early days of his career has turned into a producer. His production venture 'Love Story' is getting released on 24th September and a lot of other films are currently in the making.
He said, "I am in industry for 52 years now. Sudarshan 35 MM used to charge 5000 Rupees per week as Rent and now it is Five Lakh Rupees per week. Every two years, we have been hearing people say industry will get shut. Heroes who used to take 60K per film are having their sons charge 30 Crore now. The market will only increase."
"Show me another form of entertainment which is so affordable. Today ticket prices are like what we pay to a dose in a Udupi Tiffin Center. That affordability will ensure that industry will thrive. The market will increase further in the coming days," he stated. Hope these predictions become true and the theatres run smoothly without any problem despite the raise in the digital market.
