It is Jodha Akbar that made SS Rajamouli to first think about giving his ideas and vision wings. The budgets of Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films have gone up trying to match the visuals executed by Ashutosh in the movie.
Now, same Ashutosh seems to be following SS Rajamouli in promoting his big budget extravaganza. Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat so successful that trailer of the film, Panipat seemed to follow both the films.
At the same time, promotions of Panipat resemble, Baahubali style material and the character posters, social media posts seem like exact replicas of the film.
Well, Ashutosh Gowarikar became a huge name in Indian Film Industry, due to his penchant for originality and classic old school filmmaking. With failures like Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se and Mohenjo-Daro, he seems to have lost confidence in being original.
