Is this Star Producer in Financial Crisis?
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Oct 2014 12:27 PM GMTFor a period of time, Dil Raju enjoyed fruits in Telugu Film Industry with back-to-back hits. Unfortunately, The success rate of his films has fallen in the recent past and he decided to take a break from production post the failure of 'Ramayya Vastavayya'.
In a period of just one month, Dil Raju distributed four small budgeted films (including Geethanjali & Lovers) and all of them were successful. At the time when everything seems to be falling in place, Disappointing performance of 'Rabhasa' and 'Aagadu' incurred him losses to the tune of Rs 8.5 crore. He acquired the Nizam rights of 'Govindudu Andarivaadele' for Rs 12 crore and the film managed Rs 11.75 crore within 2 weeks. So, Mr.Raju will neither lose or gain anything from 'GAV'.
On the other hand, Dil Raju has been preferring low budget films with youngsters rather than high budget movies with stars these days. Films like 'Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham' and 'Kerintha' has been under production for a very long time. While Sai Dharam Tej starrer got delayed due to Srihari's sudden demise, Sumanth Ashwin-Lavanya Tripati starrer 'Kerintha' shoot resumed just recently after an one month break as the output of first schedule wasn't good enough.
Analysts say, Dil Raju might be facing few setback here and there but he is definitely not in any financial crisis. He is a thinking producer and knows how to manage the losses very well. Its just a matter of time that he bounces back strongly.
