Is 'Uppena' Going To Have A Digital Release?

Sai Dharam Tej's brother Panja Vaisshnav Tej's debut film 'Uppena' was supposed to hit the screens on the 2nd of April. But the Corona outbreak forced the makers to postpone it. The film gained good buzz because of its cool posters and super hit 'Nee Kannu Neeli Samudram' song.
The film's future is in a dilemma as people may not be willing to watching a debut hero's film in theatres especially at this point of time. So, sources say that the team of 'Uppena' are secretly in talks with some OTT platforms and are planning to have a direct digital release.
Though it is not official yet, sources say that either 'Amazon Prime Video' or 'Aha' are going to buy this film and will stream it directly without having a theatrical release. If this turns out to be true then it will be the first film from Tollywood to have a direct digital release.
'Uppena' is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. Sukumar has penned the story for this film while his assistant Buchi Babu Sana is directing this film. Music is given by Devi Sri Prasad while Kriti Shetty will be making her debut onscreen with this film. Tamil star hero Vijay Sethupathi is going to be the villain in this rural drama.
