Is Vijay Becoming The Next Mahesh?

Young sensation Vijay Deverakonda has stated on multiple occasions that he likes superstar Mahesh Babu very much. He even went to the superstar's pre-release event and claimed himself as a fanboy. The crazy hero has a huge following among the youth in Telugu states and he is aiming to establish himself as a Bollywood hero too with Puri Jagannadh's 'Liger'. Going by the happenings in recent times, it looks like the 'Arjun Reddy' star is replacing superstar Mahesh Babu in some areas.
Both of them are known for their good looks and subtle expressions. Vijay was recently seen in an advertisement of 'Thumbs Up' which is a brand that superstar Mahesh was endorsing for a long time. We are used to see Mahesh perform huge actions sequences for a 'Thumbs Up' bottle for the past decade. Now, Vijay replaced Mahesh as the brand ambassador of 'Thumbs Up' and the ad has been going viral on social media since Monday.
Apart from this, dashing director Puri Jagannadh announced a massive project titled 'Jana Gana Mana' with Mahesh Babu. The title poster was revealed and fans went crazy over this project. Both Mahesh and Puri were excited about this film after blockbusters like 'Pokiri' and 'Businessman' in their combo. But the project never took off and we have seen Puri claiming in a few interviews that Mahesh only works with directors who are in hits. Keeping it aside, there are strong rumours that Puri planned another film with Vijay Deverakonda titled 'Jana Gana Mana'. As the shooting of 'Liger' is done, Puri and Vijay are reportedly planning to start it quickly and wrap it up by August. Bollywood beauty Janhvi Kapoor is being considered for the heroine's role in this movie. Since 'Jana Gana Mana' was the title announced for Mahesh's film, people are guessing that Puri is making the same film with Vijay now. We need to wait for the official news to come out.
