There is nothing like Sankranti season for the film industry and the movie lovers. We see big stars locking horns with each other which gives tons of entertainment and sets the cash registers ringing non-stop. While Ravi Teja emerged as the winner this year, we are going to witness one of the biggest box-office clashes during Sankranti 2022.
Superstar Mahesh Babu announced a couple of months back that his 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' will be arriving in the Sankranti season. Now, Pawan Kalyan made it clear that he will be coming at the same time with Krish's period drama. Ever since Chiru took a break from films in 2007, the number one spot has been playing a seesaw game with Mahesh and Pawan. It is one of the biggest rivalries in Tollywood and both sets of fans wage wars on social media all the time. It cooled down a bit when Pawan took a sabbatical from films after 'Agnyathavaasi' but with his comeback becoming inevitable, fans are jumping with joy. We need to wait and see who ends up being the Sankranti winner this time.
Mahesh and Pawan battled with each other during their early days. Mahesh 'Rajakumarudu' released within two weeks after the release of Pawan's 'Thammudu'. Both ended up being good hits. In 2000, Pawan came up 'Badri' within six days of Mahesh's second film 'Yuvaraju'. This time, Pawan overtook Mahesh in terms of collections. In 2004, Mahesh's 'Arjun' and Pawan's 'Gudumba Shankar' came in the same month but both ended up as average flicks. But Mahesh thrashed Pawan in 2006. 'Pokiri' was released on 28th April and became an industry hit while Pawan's 'Bangaram' which came on 3rd May which ended up as a huge disaster.
