Inspite of delivering films with decent content, Nara Rohit was never able to attain the kind of commercial success he always wanted to achieve. 'Asura' is one more attempt in the same direction but it has got more commercial elements than any of his previous films. Did Rohit broke the jinx?
Critics have given thumbs up for Nara Rohit's power-packed performance, especially he uses base voice to good effect and the way he carried the whole film on his shoulders is commendable. He, however, needs to focus on his over-weight to put criticism at bay.
'Asura' is a stylishly shot action thriller with good twists at crucial moments. Riveting performances, taut screenplay and short run time are the strengths of the movie. Debutante filmmaker Krishna Vijay is a promising talent. He executed all the twists quite well and delivered a largely different commercial entertainer. The only drawback is the lack of Comedy which is the biggest selling point for a commercial flick.
Nara Rohit ventures into Production with a different yet gripping tale. Overall, 'Asura' is going to be a profitable film for the producers, distributors and exhibitors.
