'Jagan' factor behind low business deals for Bheemla Nayak
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 Nov 2021 11:54 AM GMTAs reported earlier, the pre-release business of Bheemla Nayak is drawing to a close. The makers have reportedly sold off the theatrical rights of the Pawan Kalyan and Rana starrer for Rs 95 crores, which is a very impressive number for a remake film that was made on a rather moderate budget. Now, it is heard that Bheemla Nayak's theatrical rights would have fetched a far bigger amount if it wasn't for the imminent 'YS Jagan' factor which is terrorizing the film distributors and exhibitors across Andhra Pradesh. This is the reason why the makers of Bheemla Nayak had to sell the film's theatrical rights for moderate prices.
Apparently, the distributors and exhibitors mentioned to the makers of Bheemla Nayak that they are concerned about the fact that the government of Andhra Pradesh, led by YS Jagan, might well target Bheemla Nayak, much like the way it did with Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab.If that happens, then the theatrical run of Bheemla Nayak will take a heavy beating and the buyers will lose big bucks on the project. This isn't in the best interests of the distributors or the producers.
So, the mutual agreement is to pay moderate prices for the theatrical rights of Bheemla Nayak and if it manages to put on a good performance at the box office without any targeted suppression from the government of Andhra Pradesh, then the profits can be shared accordingly by the producers and the distributors. This is the safest plan that was orchestrated by the involved parties. That is the reason why the theatrical rights of Bheemla Nayak are valued at around Rs 95 crores. The makers are hoping that the film will surpass the expectations at the box office so that they can take a share in the profits after it releases.
Bheemla Nayak is up for theatrical release on the 12th of Janaury and it is riding high on buzz already, thanks to the impressive teasers and the newly release La La Bheemla song. The film is directed by Saagar K Chandra and it has Rana in the other lead role. More promotional material will be out soon.
