The fresh Coronavirus cases have been going down gradually in Andhra Pradesh over the past few days. Against this backdrop, the Andhra Pradesh cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met on Monday to take a call on the lockdown restrictions.

After the meeting, the government announced that the lockdown restrictions would be eased. Except for the two Godavari districts, only a night curfew will be in place in the rest of the districts in the state.

As East Godavari and West Godavari districts continue to report more than five percent of Covid positivity rate, the curfew restrictions will be implemented from 6 AM to 7 PM. Restrictions in the other districts will be imposed from 10 PM to 6 AM.

As a piece of good news to the moviegoers and theatre owners, the government gave its nod for the theatres to resume their operations. However, 50 percent occupancy should be followed along with Covid protocols like wearing facemasks and physical distance should be followed.

Along with the theatres, the government had also permitted the Dine-in restaurants, gymnasiums, and marriage halls across the state to resume its operations that too with half occupancy. The eased restrictions will come into effect from the 8th of July.
