Jai Bhim starring Suriya and Lijomol Jose could be a strong contender for an Academy Award or Oscar this year. The Tamil language film has won over many viewers Nationally and Internationally upon its release on Amazon Prime.

Jacqueline Coley, popular critic and public opinion aggregator Rotten Tomatoes editor and Host to announce nominations this year, tweeted in favour of Jai Bhim getting a nod.

Projectionist working at New York Times, Kyle Buchanan posted on Twitter following query about which film getting a nomination will cheer people up or which one they will be rooting to.

"Which Oscar nomination could provoke the biggest reaction from you tomorrow morning?"

Jacqueline Coley replied to it by saying,

"#JaiBhim for Best Picture. Trust me on this one."

This blew up on social media as a leak with many saying she got the inside information and hence, she confidently said it. Actually, she just claimed that she would be happy to see Jai Bhim getting a nomination but did not confirm it would be getting one.

She had to issue clarification regarding the same

"Hey, there fellow #JaiBhim fans.

I loved the movie. I have no idea if it will be nominated but I will cheer loudly if it does.

Thanks for the love but I don't have any inside information.

Good luck tomorrow."

It would be great to see TJ Gnanvel directorial receiving a nomination but even if it doesn't, the movie has etched itself into the hearts of people so much that it will be remembered as one of the best movies to have been made in India.

Priyadarshan and Mohan Lal's Markkar: Lion of Arabian Sea also qualified in the shortlisting for Oscar nominations. This movie won National Award for director Priyadarshan.

Fingers crossed and hopes all up to see an Indian film taking an Oscar for best film soon. 2022 awards ceremony will be held on 27th March at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Oscar nominations will be live telecasted worldwide and it will be available in the early hours of 9th February in India.
