Tollywood has become dull as the shootings stalled and theatres closed in both the Telugu states. It is evident that the Corona outbreak resulted in the closure of all businesses around the World and thus Tollywood is no exception!
This is the first time entire Tollywood went for a shutdown. The revenue loss is heavy on producers who own theaters as they have to pay the rents as usual whether they are open or close. Before the shutdown, Tollywood had two blockbusters and a hit in this short span giving good vibes and hopes for the next releases but all the plans got shattered.
Here is a brief report of the Tollywood Box Office telling which movie worked and which didn't. 'Sarileru Nikevvaru', 'Ala Vaikunta Puram Lo' and 'Bhishma' brought good fortune for the producers and films like' Darbar', 'Disco Raja', 'Entha Manchi Vadavura', 'World Famous Lover' and 'Jaanu' tanked at the Box Office despite their good buzz among the film lovers. The small films like 'Aswathama',' Palasa 1978' and 'O Pitta Katha' crashed at the Box Office despite the huge pre-release buzz they had among the movie lovers.
Summer from the March end had good big releases scheduled but the Corona outbreak is said to only increase the risk of producers whose films are ready for the release as the interest rates could hike the final amount payable to the financiers.
