Trailer Talk: Janhvi Fails To Impress In An Inspirational Role Of 'Gunjan Saxena'!

Janhvi Kapoor who made her debut with 'Dhadak' has now waited for a long time before releasing her second film. Due to the Corona pandemic, her upcoming film 'Gunjan Saxena-The Kargil Girl' is releasing on Netflix directly and the trailer has been released recently.
The trailer looks good with an inspirational storyline of India's first woman fighter pilot. It focuses on the hardships and troubles she went through to become a member of the Air Force. The trailer shows how she was treated as she was a woman and how Gunjan Saxena overcame all those hurdles and made history. This is a true story about a simple girl with big dreams who stood her ground to rule the skies.
While the story and drama were well established in the trailer, it was Janhvi Kapoor's below-par performance and straight face which reduces a lot of the impact. A film with this kind of story needs an experienced and talented actress and choosing Janhvi may not be the best decision by the makers. She failed to make a lasting effect. Though the makers tried to compensate it with some terrific performers like Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Kumar surrounding the lead actor, it did not work out.
While the trailer failed to give you the necessary high due to inadequate performance from Janhvi, let us hope that the film is better than this. It will be streaming on Netflix from 12th August.
