Javed Akhtar Files Defamatory Case Against Kangana Ranaut

Popular lyricist Javed Akhtar on Tuesday filed a criminal complaint against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for allegedly making defamatory and baseless comments against him in TV interviews.
He filed the complaint before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate, seeking action against the Queen actress under the appropriate provisions of the IPC for defamation.
He asked for actions against Ranaut based on a video interview which garnered lakhs of views on various online platforms. He claimed that Ranaut had dragged his name unnecessarily in actor Sushant's death case.
Javed Akhtar has asked for a defamation case to be registered against Kangana Ranaut under section 499 and 500 of IPC. The first hearing of the case has been kept for December 3, 2020.
