Trailer Talk: Kalank - Karan Johar Meets Bhansali!
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 March 2019 11:16 AM GMTKaran Johar has a lavish style of making and it is evident in his movies too. He likes to present his story in larger than life style.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the other hand likes to make everything artistic and also lavish. He uses rich textures and big images to show the emotions in the story.
Following best of both schools, Kalank director, Abhishek Varman decided to fill up his film with huge sets and big artistic looking frames that seem like Indian version of Gladiator.
Karan Johar did say that he had this idea from 2002 and his father, Yash Johar wanted to make the movie during that time. Somehow, he couldn't and now, it took the shape.
The teaser is filled with aesthetics and images that cry out loud that they are from an epic novel. The background score seems to have Veer-Zaara kind of feel with fusion of latest instruments.
In any case, lavish images don't excite as much as content does. Hope it is not another Mangal Pandey or Thugs of Hindosthan.
