Kamal Hassan & Shankar - Can there be a combination more deadly than this? 'Bharateeyudu', which released two decades ago, went on to become a mighty hit. Shankar's Story, Screenplay & Taking, Kamal Hassan's Makeup, Fights & Performance and AR Rahman's Musical Score and Production Values of AM Ratnam's Sri Surya Movies were simply marvelous.
Actually, Kamal Haasan was the first choice for 'Oke Okkadu'. As the Versatile Actor was busy with 'Hey Ram' by then, Shankar decided to cast Arjun as the lead.
AM Ratnam confirms 'Bharateeyudu' in the combination of Kamal Hassan and Shankar. This would be a sequel to the Original and the film starts from the statement of Kamal in the climax - 'I will be back when the Country needs me'. Probably, Shankar could take up 'Bharateeyudu 2' after the completion of 'Robo 2.0'.
