OMG: Release of Other Language Films after 7 Weeks!

Already, Kannada Film Industry is implementing the rule that prevents dubbing of other language films into Kannada. Now, Few Film Associations have been demanding State Government to block the release of other language films for at least seven weeks. Which means, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi & English Films could hit the screens in Karnataka only 7 weeks after their official release date.
A huge protest has been staged by Kannada Film Associations on Friday seeking appropriate action from State Government on other language films which violate the norm. Activist Vataal Nagraj who led the protest told that there is a huge negative impact on Kannada Films due to Telugu, Tamil, Hindi & English Films. 'We aren't against other language films. At the same time, We won't tolerate any development that affect Kannada films. There is scarcity of theatres for Kannada movies because of other language films,' he complains.
If this demand gets approved, Producers will be losing huge money. Firstly, Kannada Distributors would buy the rights only if a film turns successful. Secondly, Piracy would hamper the collections by a big margin.
