By: Tupaki Desk | 4 April 2017 6:28 AM GMTCheliya, the Mani Ratnam's romantic novel on screen is slated for a release this Friday, 7th April. Dil Raju is presenting the movie in Telugu and the movie is produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies in both Telugu and Tamil. Karthi, the lead actor of the film, seemed extremely confident and happy about the movie. He shared his excitement with Telugu media and wished that the movie will be loved as the other Mani Ratnam directorials.
The actor said it is the toughest role and film if his career yet and working with a genius director like Mani sir is never easy and with such a role it got even tougher. He credited the maker for letting him understand about speaking on screen. He said his fans will see a lot of difference in his portrayal from earlier films and also this is first time that he will be seen in a serious role. He opined that his brother, Suriya would have been better for the role but he worked hard to manage his looks and also perform to the demands of the script.
He showered praises on his co-star, Aditi Rao Hydari, saying that she made it easy for him to emote well in front of camera even though she did not know the language. He further remembered his career beginning days when he used to assist Mani Ratnam and said he used to get a ear-full for asking the director too many questions and today, the same person praising his performance gave him a feeling of achievement in his decade long career.
