The announcement of a sequel to Jigarthanda by director Karthik Subbaraj a while back had movie goers in a frenzy. Director Karthik Subbaraj recently confirmed the film to hit the floors. The director had announced that the pre-production works for the movie had begun.
Today, the filmmaker took to Twitter to reveal a short teaser for the sequel. Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah will play the lead roles in this an action-filled entertainer. Rest of the members of the cast and crew will be announced soon.
The confrontation between the two leading protagonists staged in an intriguing manner, aided by musician Santhosh Narayanan. S Thirunavukkarasu's visuals are appealing and add to the teaser's appeal. The anticipation for Jigarthanda DoubleX among cinema fans is at an all-time high as the film is set in a similar backdrop and belongs to the same genre.
S S Thirunavukarasu, who collaborated with Karthik Subbaraj in Mercury and Petta, has been retained as the cinematographer and Shafique Mohamed Ali is the editor. Santosh Narayan is scoring the tunes for the film. The film, backed by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and Kathiresan, will be presented by Stone Bench Films. It will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages in theaters worldwide in 2023.
