Katamarayudu becomes another Sardar!

Pawan Kalyan, the craziest hero of Telugu Film Industry, as delivered back to back disasters with his two releases. Last year, Sardar Gabbar Singh written by the actor himself for more than 3 years ended up becoming a disaster for Ugadi to start the Summer season. Similarly, Katamarayudu also became a disaster after the initial hoopla around the movie. The distributors for both the films spent crores of rupees and thought if the movie can get even average talk, Pawan Kalyan's star power can push the collections to their expected margin.
Unfortunately, for them Sardar Gabbar Singh turned out to be a loss venture of upto 30 crores and now even Katamarayudu looks like racing towards creating another record in proving to be a loss venture of same magnitude for the distributors. While, Sardar distributors are still continuing their fight for compensation through several means, Katamarayudu distributors might also add up to the list after the performance of the movie in its second weekend. The release of a decent big hero film, Guru also dented the progress of Katamarayudu and the final hopes of the distributors have also vanished.
Sardar Gabbar Singh did break records in its first weekend but right from the first show the movie was called a disaster and even fans were surprised by the collections. That movie did a business of 85 crores and ended up losing 30 crores in total. Now, Katamarayudu has done a business of 90 crores in theatrical and the final collections indicate to end up less than 60 to 65 crores. So the distributors of Katamarayudu might also queue up in front of North Star, Sharath Marar office demanding healthy compensation. Keeping all this on one side, producers of Trivikram Srinivas directorial with Pawan Kalyan have already started inviting distributors to buy rights. Well, the gamble seems to be going out of hands for the distributors with heavy losses.
