'Mahanati' is the biopic of legendary actress Savitri. Malayali beauty Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Savitri in this film. The shooting of this film is going on in full swing.. director Nag Aswhin has picturized a song on Keerthy already. Dulquer Salman has recently joined the shoot of 'Mahanati'.

There were several rumours in the media in the recent past that Keerthy Suresh is gaining weight for Savitri role. Keerthy gave clarity on these reports. She said that "I'm not gaining weight for the role. In fact, I'm shedding my weight now. We are using prosthetic makeup to appear like Savitri. I'm looking chubby with the help of makeup.. that's it".
