Nani hasn't delivered a single flop in the past three years. All of his three projects which released last year hit the bull's eye. Now, He teamed up with Director Merlapaka Gandhi of 'Venkatadri Express' and 'Express Raja' fame. Let's see if 'Krishnarjuna Yuddham' would continue the success streak or not...

Synopsis:

Krishna (Nani), an aimless youth from a village in Chittoor, falls in love with Riya (Ruksar Mir) who happens to be the granddaughter of President. Even Riya starts liking Krishna after few meetings. Riya's Father who is against their love sends her back to Hyderabad.

On the other hand, Arjun (Nani) is a rockstar with a casanova image in Prague, Europe. He falls for Telugu Girl by name Subbu Lakshmi but she turns down his proposal and reaches Hyderabad.

Both Riya and Subbu Lakshmi goes missing at the same time in Hyderabad. What happened to them & how did Krishna-Arjun trace their lovers forms rest of the tale.

Performances:

As expected, Nani impresses as Krishna. Be it the body language of a mass youth or Chittoor dialect or acting prowess in action & emotional scenes, He is simply flawless and leaves a mark of his own. Whereas, Nani doesn't score any brownie points as a Rockstar.

Anupama Parameswaran does a fine job but she have very little to do in this movie. Though Rukhsar Mir is beautiful, Her acting skills are just ordinary. Mahesh and Sudarshan as Krishna's Friends tickle the funny bone. Brahmaji is simply marvelous.

Pros:

Nani as Village Youth

Comedy in First Half

Cons:

Nani as Rockstar

Second Half

Placement of Songs

Too Much Stretched Action Blocks

Technicalities:

Songs composed by Hiphop Tamizha carry a good feel. Especially, 'Dari Chodu...' stands out in the album. Whereas, Placement of songs in Second Half is bad and they disrupt the flow. Background Score is pretty good. Camera Work by Karthik Ghattamaneni is a huge asset. He captured the village nativity & beauty of Europe so well. Production Values are rich. Merlapaka Gandhi showed his mark while designing the role of Krishna and making the First Half entertaining. He, however, didn't leave the same impact on the latter half. There is no speciality in the Screenplay during the second half and that's a major setback.

Analysis:

Nani have the reputation of making movie buffs connect with the film with his acting calibre even if the story & screenplay are ordinary. Audience get a feeling that this will be another hit in the career of Natural Star after watching the Krishna role in the First Half. Nani does a brilliant job when it comes to portraying the role of a village youth. Had if the whole film was based on this role, The Box Office result of this movie could have been different irrespective of the story & screenplay.

Scenes waived around Krishna's role in the First Half are very entertaining. The ease with which Nani performed the character is a treat to watch. Combination Scenes of Nani with Mahesh and Sudarshan are enjoyable. Even Brahmaji generates ample humour.

Inclusion of Arjun's role which is something that doesn't suit the image or body language of Nani worked against 'Krishnarjuna Yuddham'. Viewers aren't able to connect with the scenes of Rockstar in which Nani appeared to be a misfit.

Stories of Krishna and Arjun are narrated in a back and forth manner. Flat screenplay based on Women Trafficking makes the Second Half boring. Here, Focus is more on action than comedy and even Krishna role didn't help the cause. Lack of twists n turns test the patience of the audience post Interval. Undoubtedly, It's the weakest script of all the films Nani acted in the recent years. You can watch 'Krishnarjuna Yuddham' if you are content even if half of the film doesn't live up to the expectations.

Bottom Line:
Good Comedy - Boring War!
