With biggies like Uttama Villain from Kamal Haasan, and already blockbuster movie Kanchana 2 (Ganga in Telugu) in the race for May 1st, no doubt it will be tough for any other small movie to compete with them. Even though they are dubbed movies, the craze for them is unbeatable.
As publicised, Manchu Lakshmis Dongata will not be hitting screens on May 1st. As the producer and also leading lady of the movie felt that they don't have enough time from massive promotions, she opted out of the race. Trade pundits stated that Dongata is not in a position to compete with biggies in Summer.
Directed by newcomer, Dongata is a slapstick crime comedy revolving around a kidnap drama.
